UKCYBSA Coaches Contract

At Upper Kittitas County Youth Baseball & Softball Association, we are committed to nurturing a passion for the games of baseball and softball while instilling the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth in our players.

Our mission is to provide a secure and inclusive environment where individuals of all ages and skill levels can come together to learn, compete, and celebrate these great American pastimes.

As a UKCYBSA Coach, you are expected to lead with integrity and model the behaviors we aim to teach on and off the field.

 Coach Agreement & Expectations

By signing the UKCYBSA Coaches Contract, you agree to:

✅ Exhibit respectful and ethical leadership – understand that young athletes learn best by example.
✅ Know and teach the rules – and uphold them consistently.
✅ Respect each player’s personality and development path.
✅ Be a positive role model – avoid arguments, inappropriate gestures, or profanity in front of players or spectators.
✅ Promote respect for umpires, opposing coaches, and teams.
✅ Prioritize fun and development over winning — never ridicule or yell at players for mistakes.
✅ Encourage and praise players when it’s deserved — they need a coach they can respect and trust.
✅ Engage parents in supporting team values and player growth.
✅ Win and lose with grace – never blame officials for the outcome of a game.
✅ Teach and model good sportsmanship at every opportunity.
