⚾ UKC Baseball & Softball — FAQ 🥎

📅 When does the season start and end?
Our season typically begins right after spring break and runs through early June. Exact dates may shift slightly depending on the school calendar.

🗓️ When does registration open and close?
Registration opens in December and closes March 1st. Be sure to register early to secure your spot and help us plan for the season.

💸 Are scholarships available?
Yes! Scholarships are available through HopeSource. We believe every child should have the chance to play, and HopeSource can assist families in need.

📍 Where are games and practices held?
We use both Roslyn Parks and Memorial Park for practices and games throughout the season.

📆 How many games and practices should we expect?
Expect an average of 2–3 games per week and at least one practice per week. This may vary slightly by division and field availability.

🧢 What gear is provided?
Each player is provided with a helmet and a bat if needed.

🥎 What gear do we need to bring?
All players must bring their own glove and cleats.

⚾ What type of bat can my athlete use?
If you bring your own bat, it must be USA Baseball certified (look for the “USA” stamp near the barrel).
Bats marked USSSA, BBCOR, or wood-only are not allowed for league play.

📊 Division Placement & League Age

Division placement is based on your child’s "league age," which is determined by how old they are on May 1, 2025.
League age applies to players ages 4 through 12 only.

✅ UKCYBSA-Specific Age Rules:

The UKCYBSA Board of Directors voted to set a local age requirement for T-Ball:
➤ Children must be 4 years old by May 1st to participate, for safety and development reasons.
If your child has played two seasons in a lower division, they are eligible to move up at a parent’s discretion.
If moving from Minors to Majors (baseball or softball), a tryout is required before final placement.
